Love...

Sophie is so in love with this little boy. She cannot stop kissing him and hugging him. She calls him her little buddy. She is always so concerned about him when he cries, and is so helpful. She is already trying to teach him "thumbs up" and "bones". I can already tell they are going to be best friends. He always listens so hard when she is around. He loves the sound of her voice. It is such a joy to see my babies together. I feel so blessed.

time at home...

We are adjusting to our time at home with a new baby. Days are easier than nights I have to say. Sophie is doing amazingly well with the change. I feel so blessed to have such easy going kids. I am so grateful for the help our families have so freely given. Sophie has had both sets of Grandparents here everyday, spoiling her rotten! Corey has been amazing. I am so grateful he works from home. I don't think I could do it without him. I am recovering a little slower than I did with Sophie, but that is no surprise considering the labor process I went through. We are making it one day at a time though, and love having our sweet boy here. There is nothing like the peace a new baby brings into your home.

Coming home day...

Yay! I am so excited to go home. I remember crying the day I had to leave the hospital with Sophie, but this time I am ready. Thinking we would be leaving after lunch, Corey and Sophie came to the hospital early. We waited all morning for the pediatrician to come get Dawson for his circumcision. They finally came around 2:00. The procedure took about an hour, then we had to wait another hour for them to check and make sure he was ok. Grammy and Grandma Linda came up and spent the afternoon with us. They all went and ate lunch in the cafeteria. Sophie was so exhausted by the middle of the afternoon, that she feel asleep on the bed while we waited for them to come back to check on Dawson. We took some pictures while we were waiting to be discharged. We finally ended up leaving around 5:30. We got home around 6:00. My mom made us dinner. It is so weird to be home. I can't believe I have two kids. It is so surreal. We love him! Here come the sleepless nights!

Day number 2...

Corey and Sophie spent a lot of the day at the hospital with me. We watched TV and Sophie made friends with all of the nursing staff. They all loved her and thought she was so smart and adorable. That girl can make anyone smile. She loves Dawson and can't stop kissing and hugging him. I am amazed by how much she adores him. Corey said that on their way to the hospital this morning she said, "are we going to Dawson's house?" Corey explained to her that he was our baby and the we were going to bring him home in a couple of days. She got really excited about that! We had a few visitors, but all in all had a pretty mellow day. Dawson is doing really well. He is so healthy, to which I feel truly grateful. He picked up nursing really fast too. I have been so impressed with the U. The staff and care have been so amazing. We feel so blessed!
