Hogle Zoo

We took Sophie to the Zoo on Tuesday.
She loved it. We had so much fun. She loved the monkeys, and the birds.
It took her a minute to figure out the elephants and the giraffe but she really liked them after a minute. We shared a Popsicle, her favorite treat and ate Taco Bell. It was so fun to watch her wave and smile at the animals and all the little kids. She was so much fun. I want to go again soon and take her on the train.
Poor Ms. Elephant is expecting a large bundle of Joy next summer!!
I am so glad I am not an elephant. 22 months is a little too long thank you.
We let Sophie stand up by the glass in the monkey cage. She thought she was so big.
She even learned how to make a monkey sound. its so cute.
The white alligator was so creepy. There is a picture of me when I was little that looks exactly like the one of Sophie in front of the gorilla. I will have to find it and post it.

I always knew I was a Mermaid!!!

Headstrong and fiesty. You have a mind of your own that's full of romantic dreams about the world around you. Exploring exotic places is your ultimate dream, and although you can be a little naive you'll realize that there is something to be gained from your family's wisdom.

Lake Powell 2008

We had the best time in Lake Powell.
the weather was perfect except for the first day. We had hurricane winds that blew the oh so loved red sand of Lake Powell ALL over everything.
The water was not too cold. It was rising 12 inches a day.
We moved campsites, because the first one we were in was going to end up under water by the time we left.
Our 2nd one turned out to be much nicer. We shared our little beach with a youth conference group and they were surprisingly very quiet.
We had a ball on the tube. no major injuries to report just some inhaled water, kinked necks and a couple of cuts and scrapes. Jessica broke her foot while walking on the rocks.
Sophie loved riding on the boat but hated her life jacket. All the food we ate was delicious.
The sunsets were amazing. Our baths were cold. Our toes got painted. Its a Lake Powell tradition for EVERYONE to paint their toes. Some of the boys take it off the next day but never the less they still get them painted. We tie dyed shirts as our souvenir.
We cliff jumped, ate Ice cream at the marina. I fell in the water. I stepped on the side of the dock and it broke, a nice man was to my rescue before I even knew what happened. I am glad that I didn't get squished between the boat and the dock. Gas was soooo expensive!!! more than 5 dollars a gallon. The motor home made it with no problems. yeah!!! and we didn't have a single car break down!! we had the best time!!
thank you mom and dad for the fun and unforgettable trip!!
we look forward to next year.
