sophie...

Sophie is growing and changing so much. She talks like a 25 year old, and thinks she needs to do everything for herself. I am amazed at how fast she picks things up. She loves to play with her princesses, her castle and her stuffed animals and babies. The only thing she keeps saying she wants for Christmas is a baby doll. She is always saying and doing the funniest things. Her latest are, "What the Crap" which she is not supposed to say. So after saying it she says, " we are not supposed to say that. She will always say something and ask us if it is ok to say or if its a bad word. She will always catch us on our mistakes and tell us that we said a bad word. She loves to talk to the baby through my belly button, and she will give him kisses and show him her toys. She loves to run around in the basement and play chase with daddy. She is very tender and will always tell us that she loves us so much. She is such a princess. She has a magic wand that she will turn daddy into a frog or a prince. We just got her a big girl bed which she loves, but she won't sleep in it. When I asked why she didnt want to sleep in it she told me that its because she sleeps in mommy and daddys bed and that her room is scary. I told her it wasnt scary and she said yes it is there are ghosts in there. She really dislikes shoes and socks and never has them on. She is always so excited about everything. I love her zest for life. She keeps us on our toes every day. She doesnt like to be messy and wont walk around on the floor if there are crumbs. She is such a little nut!

Forgotton Carols...

Forgotten Carols is one of my favorite things during the Christmas season. We were able to do it early this year. I really think it sets the mood for a great Christmas Season. We had a good dinner, and the Blancks made homemade ice cream that was delicious. Jessica and I usually spilt the book in half, she reads and then I do. This year she was a good sport and read the whole thing. Sophie was really good this year, she liked the music and would do a couple of dance moves until she realized people were watching. I love family traditions. They are something that have always been so important to me.

The Holy War...

We had our annual Utah v Byu party! It was a lot of fun, even though I was way beyond tired from or crazy shopping day. We were also blessed, or rather Corey was blessed to have a few more Y fans to cheer for the blue team with him! We had pizza and yummy treats, and everyone looked great in their team gear. The game was full of Boos and Cheers from each side. Sophie had a blast! She loves having people over, I do too. It is so great to have such an awesome room downstairs! I dressed her in her Utah (or Tutah as she would say) shirt. Our deal is our girls cheer for red our boys cheer for blue! Corey had to sneak some blue on her somehow so he wrote on her check and stomach with a washable marker. She hates to be dirty so she wasn't too fond of being colored on. The game was great as always. Unfortunately, we Ute fans had sad faces at the end of the game. Thank you Max Hall for making the loss a little more bearable! That why I'm a UTE!!!! Black Friday 2009...

My mom and I made our first ever early morning trek to the black friday sales. We woke up at 3, got dressed in our warm clothes and headed out in the freezing cold to Target. We laughed the whole way there at how stupid we were. We got to Target around 4:00 am. I was surprised, at first glance the line didn't seem nearly as bad as I imagined. Then we got out and started walking. The line wrapped all the way around to the back of the store. We stood in line for an hour chatting with new acquaintances. When 5:00 rolled around there were cheers when the doors open, and the line started swiftly moving. When we made it inside we both grabbed a basket and headed for the "big ticket items" we were looking for. We got lost from each other two seconds after we entered. After filling our baskets with the big things on our list, we found each other and continued on to find the little things. By this time it had mellowed out a little bit, the veteran shoppers already had full baskets and were waiting in the check out line. We spent the next few hours trying to wake our tired brains to figure out what we were going to buy. around 8:30 we made it to the check stand. We purchased our things and then went and sat at a little table in the starbucks they have inside, and had a little rest. We went through our lists and felt good about our purchases. We made it home around 10:00. We unloaded the car, and continued onto our next stop. We first went to a little store called urban blues, then we were feeling really ambitious, and we headed to the mall. We got inside close to 1:00. We were hungry and we were starting to feel the effects of waking up at 3:00. We wandered around in and out of a few stores. By this time my brain had completely stopped working! We sat in the food court completely exhausted. It took all of our strength to make it back to the car. I got home at 3:00 pm. I climbed into bed and feel asleep for an hour. at 4 I had to wake up, we had plans to go downtown with my family and Corey's parents for the "lights on" ceremony at temple square. We had a VIP spot because the building my dad is working on is right across the street from the Temple. We made it just in time to see them turn on. After a tour of the building we went to dinner at Wingers. We all came back to our house and played games. I didn't end up making it to bed until about midnight. I have not had a long day like that for a very long time! I was completely exhausted! It was really fun, I am not sure if it is going to be a yearly thing or not!

Happy Thanksgiving...

We had a fun and busy Thanksgiving. Corey's parents and brother were able to stay with us. It was a lot of fun! Sophie loved having people sleep over at her house! We bought her a new big girl bed a few days before. We had the Halliday family over at 1:00 the food was yummy, I ate way too much. I cooked my first turkey. It turned out pretty good! We browsed the black friday ads after lunch and made our game plan. We went to Grandma Sharps at 6:00 that night. We again ate to much! It's always fun to be surrounded by lots of family on Thanksgiving. We came home, watched the Denver Broncos game and I went to sleep. I was planning on waking up at 3 to go shopping with my mom. I am so grateful for all of my family!

30 weeks...

I can't believe I only have 10 weeks left. The time has flown by. Other than feeling huge and not being able to breath, everything is going great. I have a doctors appointment every two weeks. They go well with nothing interesting to report. We were a little concerned about pre term labor, but so far everything is looking normal. Which means no bed rest! He is growing as am I! I am already bigger than I ever got with Sophie. We still haven't picked a name. I hope one comes to us soon! I am feeling totally unprepared, I hardly have anything for him! The car seat is still in a bag in the garage. I have another ultrasound in 4 weeks. It will probably be the last one before he is here! I am getting more excited to see but also very nervous! Not for the labor and delivery, but for having two kids. The next few weeks are going to be crazy trying to get everything ready for Christmas and for his birth!

Christmas Trees...

We went on our yearly Christmas tree adventure. It is one of my favorite traditions. It was cold, but sunny. Sophie wasn't a fan of her snow boots. She cried until we took them off. Thankfully we brought her slippers. I tried my luck at hiking, being 7 months pregnant I didn't get very far. I turned around and spent the rest of the day in the truck. Corey bundled up Sophie, put her in the back pack, and carried her up the mountain. With saw in hand they set off in search of the perfect tree. They came back down with a really pretty one. He said she was happy the whole hike until they went under a tree and had snow fall on them. We filled the back of the truck with trees, and left just as the blizzard blew in. We ate dinner at Dicks drive in. I can't wait to put my tree up in our new house. It smells so good.
