The Joy of Gardening

I love this time of year, when I can finally plant some flowers.
I love working in my garden and getting dirt all over the place.
I love having lots of color after the long, white winter.
I love to be outside and thankfully so does sophie.
I feel like there is nothing like working hard and then standing back and seeing the end result!
It gives me such a good feeling.
this year I planted a few tomato plants in pots. I am excited to see how they turn out.
I am so grateful for this beautiful warm weather we have been having!
I love summertime!!!
I spent the day today planting my grandmas flowers!
it was a lot of fun I think she instilled in my mom the love for gardening
and that my mom did the same for me.
after I was done she took me lunch!

"Cinco de Mayo" Party

we had a "Cinco de Mayo" party monday night.
it was a lot of fun!
my Grandma Webb, Cousin Mike his wife Jen and their 3 kids Peter, Becca and Mary came
along with my Cousin Tayler his wife Jessica and their 2 kids Sawyer and Stetson.
Jessica's "friend" Issac came too.
we had enchiladas, re fried beans, homemade corn salsa and chips, strawberries and pineapples and Pina Coladas that were soooo tasty!!
we ate and laughed,
the boys had a basketball game, we took some silly pictures and we had a Pinata.
I love all of our silly traditions! thanks mom!!
we had a Pinata and after all of the kids had had 2 turns trying to break it open my cousin tayler said he wanted a turn. first he hit it with a plastic bat and a few pieces flew out. my dad then suggested that he use a piece of wiring that he had brought home from his job that weighs about 5 pounds and is solid metal. we were all laughing that if he let go of it and it came flying towards us it would really hurt is it hit someone. he didnt let go but, he swings with all of his might.... the wire hits the pinata.... and it was like a bomb exploded inside it. candy came flying and I mean FLYING towards us, we all covered our heads a ducked. some people ran. after we realized what had happened we all burst out laughing. candy was everywhere! the hit was so hard that some of the candy was nothing but powder and some of it was blown out of the wrapper. there were some pencils and a couple of them were broken right in half. it was probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen.
my mom some how took a picture right as it was happening....

I feel so grateful for my life today.
I love being this little girls mom, she is the best!
I look at her and feel overwhelmed with love for her.
She and I have had a little cold this past week.
she has been so happy despite not feeling good.
last night she gained the confidence to stand on her own
today she has been doing it more and standing longer.
she is getting so big!

My Awesome New Furniture!

I went to Ikea last monday and bought some new chairs for my Kitchen and a new
entertainment center. sophie is now getting into everything and our old TV stand just wasnt going to cut it. she loved to pull the play station off the shelf along with the Tivo and the dvd player. one day she managed to open the dvd player take the dvd out and then close it again!?! I swear, she is so smart. that is why I ventured out.
here are a couple of pictures, not very good ones but you get the general idea!
I LOVE my new furniture!
by the way, IKEA is the craziest place I have ever been. it is like a theme park.
it is so big that there is a cafe in the middle in case you get hungry along the way.
there is only one way in and one way out. everything there is awesome! they pretty much have anything you could want or need for your house!
my brain was on major over load the rest on the day.

Corey's Birthday

For Corey's birthday
Sophie and I took arbys to him at work
and spent the day and the office with him.
when we got home we went to Mulligans
we went miniature golfing and he hit a bucket of balls with his new clubs!
He loves them and says that they are the best birthday present he has ever had!! score!!
that night we went to wienerschnitzel, out of all of the restaurants in Utah he wanted to go there I think it started out as a joke and then it really did sound good to him, so that's where we went.
My family went with us and they bought him some balloons and sang to him really loud
there were only 3 other people eating in there.
One was an old guy, one of the balloons popped on a leaf and he about had a heart attack.
that place was robbed not too long ago and I think he thought he was being shot. It was sad but very funny. we tried not to laugh too loud. after we ate we came back to our house and had banana splits.
on sunday we celebrated again at my parents house.
my mom and I made him his favorite meal.
we had ribs, potatoes, beans, zucchini, rolls and salad with homemade ranch dressing.
I made him a double layer chocolate cake with mini chocolate chips all around the outside and fresh raspberries, strawberries and blueberries and fresh raspberry sauce. it was so tasty!! definitely my best cake! we played frisbee golf and he opened presents. he got some other golf stuff, a new Frisbee, a hat, some clothes, sponge bob square pants golf balls (from sam) they are neon yellow, and my grandma said she is going to take him to dinner at Marie Calenders
I hope that you had a good birthday!
love you!

Sophie had fun golfing she was so funny.

Corey's new clubs! he loves them.

Sophie fell asleep on grandpas lap she loves him so much!

My trickster brothers gave him a bag full of shredded paper with a fun dip in the bottom

she can stand on her own but is a little bit too scared still.
she has become very good at dancing while she is standing.
she has had a couple of bruises but nothing too major yet thankfully!
ps. she stopped nursing cold turkey a week ago and I am still in pain.
