Sophie's 2nd Birthday...

Sophie has been anxiously awaiting her Birthday for months. She learned how to sing Happy Birthday, and would constantly say my Birdays soon. It finally arrived! She woke up so happy and was greeted by some decorations and presents downstairs. When she saw her balloons, all she could say was WOW! I made her favorite pancakes and bananas for breakfast. She had to open a present when she was done eating she couldn't wait any longer. Corey missed that one! When Corey was done working she opened a few more. She got a mermaid outfit, some Ariel crayons and an Ariel book. My mom came over and took pictures, then we were off to the Zoo. She Loves the Zoo. We packed a lunch and braved the 100 degree weather. We had lots of fun. We cooled off by eating a popsicle and standing in front of huge fans that blew a cool mist. After the Zoo, we went to see Harry Potter. My Dad got free tickets through his work. Sophie enjoyed the first 5 minutes, she was occupied with a huge bucket of popcorn. After that, Corey and I spent the rest of the evening taking turns chasing her around the hall. The movie ended late, so we hurried to Pei Wei for dinner. I was so tired, and was having a major pregnant moment, Corey had 2 hours of work left to do, and it was 11:30 pm. My Dad kindly came over and gave Sophie a bath and got her to sleep. She told Corey and I thank you a million times, and when I asked her if she had a good Birthday she screamed YES!

July Party at Great Grandma Sharps...

Sophie had a little party at Grandma Sharps tonight. She had so much fun! She just loves the idea of Birthdays. She can hardly contain her excitement that it is finally HER birthday. She got some really fun presents and got to eat cake with strawberry frosting. Thanks every one for all of her great gifts.

Independance day...

We woke up at 7, got dressed and headed over to the park for breakfast. Chris and Heidi were so nice and stood in line waiting for us. We rushed to eat, Sophie had to be on the float at the top of the parade route at 9. After Corey got her there and settled, he met us in our usual seats to watch the parade. The parade was fun, Jessica got chosen to drive a vintage car down the route carrying two Veterans on the back. We all laughed wondering why they picked a girl who had been in 6 car accidents. Sophie was on one of the last floats that came down, she got to ride on the Lions Club float with Tori. She was all smiles and waves, she even threw a few pieces of candy at us. When the parade was over Corey, Sophie and I went to man the Duck Pond booth. We were so busy the rest of the morning. It is a favorite by far. We ended up with almost a thousand tickets. We ate hot dogs and hamburgers and Sophie enjoyed playing with the ducks in the pond. When the carnival was over we went home and took a nap, We had been invited by the Badgers to the Stadium of Fire for the evening. We had three tickets, and found out Sophie didn't need one. We decided to invite Tori along so she could see the Jonas Brothers. She was beside herself with excitement. We left for Provo around 5:30. We ate dinner at Noddles and Company. It took us about an hour to get from St. Street and University Prky. To the BYU stadium. All along the way we saw cars decked out with I Love Jonas Brothers painted all over, and screaming girls hanging out the window. We arrived at the stadium and got a free poster. We had INCREDIBLE seats. We sat 5 rows for the field on the west side of the stage. Luckily someone didn't show up so we had and extra seat to let Sophie sit in. It started right as we got to our seats. It was a blast, we saw some cool jets and helicopters fly over us, She Daisy was awesome, and the fire and dancers were also really great. It was SO SO SO loud when it was the Jonas Brothers turn to perform. Thankfully my Dad gave us ear plugs for Sophie. Our ear were ringing the rest of the night. I am sure you could hear all of the little girls scream clear in Salt Lake. The Fire Works at the end were the best I have ever seen excluding the Olympics. We were so close to where they were being set off we had ash and fragments of the casing flying at us the whole time, not to mention you could feel the heat. It was so awesome though. Sophie actually enjoyed them. It was so much Fun. Definitely something I want to do again! Thank you so much Badgers! I love the Fourth of July. It makes me so proud I live in this Country. Stadium of Fire

Oakley Rodeo...

Our Fourth of July adventures began tonight with our yearly trip to the Oakley Rodeo. My cute Grandma Sharp buys the entire family tickets. We have lots of fun and enjoy each others company. It was breast cancer awareness night, all of the cowboys had pink shirts on. The money made was donated to research. Sophie had a really good time watching the worsies (horses) and playing with her cousin Leah. She also really enjoyed the fireworks this year. We went to the cabin when it was over to visit with everyone before we headed home. I love this fun tradition!
