California...

We just returned from spending a week in California. We had so much fun! We left Thursday morning and drove to Vegas. We stayed at South Point, went shopping at Towne Center, ate at claim jumper and Drove the strip. The babes loved the Casino, Sophie really wanted to play the games. We woke up on Friday and made the trek to California. We got lost of course and got in later than we were expecting. After checking into the hotel we drove around looking for somewhere to eat. We decided on Cheesecake factory. We walked around the mall for a while, then went back to swim. It was a little bit too cold but the babes enjoyed it anyway. Saturday we woke up to rain. We were going to go to the beach but it was really cold. We decided on Hollywood instead. We walked the walk of stars, wandered around Kodak theater and went to the wax museum. We actually had a really good time and laughed super hard. We left to find lunch and got back to the hotel around noon. Not having any other plans come to mind we decided to upgrade our Disney tickets and go an extra day. We got to the park around 1:30. Our first stop was small world. After a few rides in fantasy land including the choo choo and the merry go round, we headed over to California adventure. We went on the new Ariel ride and the Toy story ride. We decided on Hamburgers for dinner. While I ordered our dinner Cor went on soarin'. We were hoping Soph was tall enough but she was about 2 inches too short. We went back over to Disneyland, rode a few more rides and then waited to see Fantasmic. Daws had had enough and fell asleep. Soph really loved it and said she was worried for Mickey when the dragon came. We decided not to stay for fireworks and watched them on our way out. Both of the babes were asleep by the time we got back to the hotel. Sunday we woke up and Cor dropped the kids and I off at the gate and he headed over the ESPN zone to watch opening day of the NFL. We rode the rides in fantasy land, went on the Jungle Cruise and ate lunch across from the Rivers of America. Soph got a charm bracelet and wore it around the whole day. Cor met us after lunch and took daws back to the hotel for a nap. Soph and I went over to California adventure. We rode some rides and wandered around the stores. We went to down town Disney and shopped, then went back over to Disneyland. We rode rides until dinner time then met the boys for some pizza. We were worn out so we went back to the hotel and went to bed. Monday we were up and at the gate by 9. We went to the Fantasy faire to see the princesses. We saw Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. They were all so darling. Then it was on to Toon Town. We saw Mickey, Minnie and Donald Duck. Cor and Soph rode the roller coaster a few times. Cor and the babes rode a few more rides while I waited in line to see Rapunzel. That was one of my favorite moments of the trip. Soph was beside herself with excitement. Rapunzel was adorable and spent several minutes talking to Soph. Daws even got a kick out of meeting her. After that we left to eat lunch at the Rain Forest cafe' in downtown Disney. We rushed over to California adventure to see Disney Junior live on stage. We also saw Turtle Talk with Crush and watched the block party with the incredibles. We rode monsters inc then went back over to Disneyland. We rode Autopia then got a Mickey Ice Cream and waited for the Parade. Cor and soph rode small world then went to Toon Town to ride the roller coaster. Daws and I walked down mainstreet and got on the Train. We met Cor and Soph and the Toon Town Station and rode the train around the park. We left and got dinner at McDonalds. Tuesday we woke up and were going to attempt the beach again but it was still pretty cold. We decided instead of wasting a day we were going to go back to Vegas. We went to the outlets ate dinner at the buffet and watched movies. It was relaxing after walking so much the past few days. We woke up early Wednesday and drove home. We had a great time. We love taking our babes to Disneyland. They both love it so much.

Sophie's First day of Pre-school...

Little Miss Madam woke up so excited today. The first thing she said was, "I get to go to school today"! She picked out one of her new outfits and wore her new shoes. She was doing twist and turns in front of the mirror admiring how pretty she looked. When we arrived at school she met her teachers, Miss Julie and Miss Tammy. She got her school bag, and Miss Tammy showed her her locker. She was excited she got the apple locker. She played with the toys and met a few girls. We looked at her table, then went out to the playground. She played with her new friend Izzy. I am happy she knows someone, although they aren't in the same class. She didn't want to leave when it was time to go because "She hadn't made all of her new friends yet". I am excited for her. It will be a fun school year!

Enjoying our last few weeks of summer...

We have sure been enjoying our last few weeks of summer. We have gone to the zoo, and aquarium and have spent lots of time playing outside. The babes sure do love to play outside. It has been a fabulous summer that has gone by way too fast. I am however, really looking forward to the fall. Oh how I love the fall. Soph is excited to start school in one more week! We are looking forward to our California trip, I am so excited for the cooler days, the clothes, the smells, football (yes I said it!), and drives in the mountians. I also can't wait to make pumpkin chocolate chip bread...YUMMY!!

19 months...

This is one silly little boy... Here are 19 things about Dawsie.
1. He LOVES anything to do with sports, his most favorite is basketball. He plays mutiple times a day with dadda.
2. He wants to be just like Soph and has to do everything she is doing.
3. He loves Mickey. He doesn't say his name, but sings the hot dog song whenever he sees him.
4. He gets into everything. His favorite right now is the toilet, YUCK!
5. He started to say his name a few days ago, he calls himself Dawsie.
6. He is only taking one nap a day, though he has gone without one a few times, not my favorite.
7. He loves candy, most of all suckers.
8. He loves to play outside and can now reach the door handle.
9. He loves to watch movies in the car.
10. He loves to swim. It doesn't matter where or how cold it is.
11. He loves to scare us. He thinks he is so funny and cracks up everytime.
12. He loves his blankey.
13. He weighs 26 pounds and is 32 1/2 inches tall.
14. He is wearing 2T clothes and a size 5 shoe.
15. He loves to climb on things. His favorite is climbing the pantry shelves to reach a snack.
16. He loves having his own room, even though he doesn't sleep in there yet.
17. He loves to dance
18. He has learned how to catch a ball, swing a bat and shoot a 3 pointer.
19. He is so sweet. He loves to snuggle and give hugs and kisses.

We just got home from spending the weekend in Blanding. We were there to attend the Memorial service for one of Corey's very best friends, Jason Workman. He was a Navy Seal that died in Afghanistan two weeks ago when their helicopter was shot down. Corey said that there are not too many phone numbers he can remember 20+ years later and Jason's is one of them. They had a group of friends that spent all of their time together, they did everything together from being in the same elementary, middle school and high school classes. They played sports together (same region champion basketball team). They dated the same girls (small town) at seperate times, group dated together, went together with their dates to prom and so forth. They spent time camping, trouble making and everything else you can think of together as a group. The memorial was really sad but uplifting. Speakers included: The Governor of Utah, A member of the Quorum of the 70's, his brothers and his parents. I don't think there was a dry eye in the packed stake center. He was incredibly talented and loved by so many people. I feel honored that I got to be there. Although I didn't know him personally, I couldn't help but feel like I did when we left. I left feeling indebted to all the Men and Women who selflessly leave their homes and families to protect our freedom's. I know I am guilty of ingratitude for living in America and being Free. I am so grateful to be an American and this experience makes that feeling even stronger. I hope I can teach my children how blessed we really are to live where we do in a free nation! Jason, We hope we can pass on your amazing legacy. Thank you for the selfless sacrifice you made in defending our lives and our freedom. You will be dearly missed by so many.

Senior Prom

1st Annual...

Halliday Family Reunion...We went up to Grandma Sharp's cabin in Oakley this weekend. We left late Friday night after we ate dinner at Sizzler. Saturday Tanya, Linda and I left the husband and the kids and went school shopping at the outlets in Park City. When we got back we played games, the kids swam and the babies watched Mickey. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner. The kids watched a movie in the bunk bed room, while the adults played games late into the night. We went to sleep around 1:00. Corey and I must have been tired because we missed the commotion happening right outside our door. Mckay fell off the bunk bed in the middle of the night and cut his head open. Trent put band aides on it and left it for the morning. They took him to the ER on Sunday morning to get staples. It was a really fun little getaway. The kids a blast swimming, Sophie and Maddie road the teeter totter the whole time we were up there, and all Dawson wanted to do was play pool!
