The Night before Chirstmas...

Oh my goodness it is finally here. Sophie has been waiting and looking forward to this day for months!! She ran into our room this morning yelling, "Mommy and Daddy, Guess what day it is? It's Christmas Eve". We got dressed and made breakfast. We then got ready for the Halliday Christmas eve soup party. Everyone got there around 1. We ate lunch and the kids decorated Gingerbread houses. The boys and Grandma played scrabble while the kids ran around downstairs. It was lots of fun. We took a rest then went to Grandma Sharps at 6:30. We have been having a party at her house every year for as long as I can remember. We ate dinner and had our gift exchange. We got some fun things. We opened our pajamas and the kids marched around in the annual pajama parade. Sophie loved it this year and Papa helped Dawsie participate. We gathered our things and went home. We gave the kids their gifts from us. A homemade toy and a book. We read the new book and then we read the nativity story out of the bible. It's a tradition we have carried over from Corey's childhood. I love it, it really brought the spirit into our home. We said our prayers and then watched Charlie Browns Christmas. Sophie fell sound asleep about 5 minutes after she layed down, and daws wasn't too far behind her. I was relieved. Last year she was up until 1:30. I can't wait to see her face tomorrow...

Dawsons First Haircut...

Wow! What a nightmare. He would not hold still for one second. I was afraid we were going to chop off his ear. He is so funny. He loved the spray bottle and shivered every time my mom sprayed it. After trying just about every distraction to get him to hold still. I finally had to put him on my lap. We were both covered with hair by the end. His hair was so long, it looked cute when we were done. He looked so old.

A visit with Grandma Webb...

Every year Grandma gives all of the Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren Christmas gifts. This year we went over to house to visit her. Sophie loves looking around at all of her neat things and Corey loved looking at all of the sweet family pictures taken in the 90s! She gave the babes a really cute hat and we got a Santa plate for cookies. I love her house it has been the same for as long as I can remember.

Webb Chirstmas Party...

My Mom was in charge of the Webb Christmas party this year. Planning a party for 120 people is a lot of work. Minus a few mishaps, it was a big success. My mom did a really good job. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed scooter the clown. I think he made balloons the entire night. Santa and Mrs. Claus came, Sophie was so excited to see Mrs. Claus. She sat on her lap and talked away. Dawson still wasn't sure about Santa, but there were no tears! I love my Grandma Webb so much. She is such a cute funny lady. It must make her feel so proud to look around and see all of the people in her family. There are a lot!! She has dementia and is slowly forgetting the day to day things. She remembers her past but even that is starting to go. It is sad to me, but she does say some really funny things. She still has a sense of humor and loves my kids and Corey. We are lucky to see her so often, some of my cousins she doesn't remember. It was a fun night.

Party with our friends...

We had our 3rd annual Christmas Party. The Blancks were the hosts this year. We left all of the kids with babysitters. It was fun being adults for a few hours! The food was delicious and as usual we laughed really hard playing games. It was a fun night. We have some really great friends!

The Kids...

Sophie is so excited for Christmas. We have a couple of countdowns, it is the first thing we do in the morning. We also look for Merry, our elf on the shelf. She has been in some pretty silly places and Sophie thinks it is so funny. Dawson doesn't really get it yet. He does loves to hit the tree and rip the bows off of all of our presents. I am so excited as well, kids are so much fun!
