Can you say "Different"?

So my little sister Jessica just returned home from a humanitarian medical mission to Peru. she spent 10 days trekking through the Amazon jungle assisting a doctor in all sorts of different things. 25 medical students from the country are picked to go and she was one of them. WOW!! her stories are amazing!! while she was gone it made me realize how completely different we are. I am what you would call a typical "Utah" mommy. I want 5 kids a nice house in the suburbs a white picket fence and yes I will probably end up driving a mini van!! YIKES!! I have never loved to work or go to school. I love hanging out at home, making yummy things, doing crafts to make my house cuter and now just recently being a mom!! the thought of leaving my family and the comforts of home to go do what she did gives me a stomach ache. I do love adventurous things but I am a last minute, spur of the moment sky diving kind of women. I guess I am a closet thrill seeker. any way I just think she is awesome and I love how different we are. it makes the world and our family a little more interesting. I am grateful Heavenly Father makes us all so different. I am grateful for Jessica and look up to her so much!! she is awesome!!

5 months & a trip to Temple Square!!

We braved the cold and made our yearly trip to Temple Square!!

it was really pretty & sophie loved the lights.

she was bundled in her stroller and was really toasty every where except her nose!!

Daddy thought that he could keep her warmer by holding her.

even though I am sure she was warm enough in her stroller!!

love you babe!!

We ate dinner at arbys before we went.
Sophie also turned 5 months.
here is what life is like with a 5 months old.
She has really started to show us her independent side. she loves to put her own pluggy in her mouth and is constantly taking it in and out. we dont go through a day without a gut busting laugh. rice cereal and sweet potatoes have become a part of her expanding menu. we wake up to lots of smiles and lots of chattering. she has learned a new trick and thinks that "Fake Coughing" is the greatest thing she has learned. she likes to do it when we arent paying attention to her because with out fail we will always laugh. she is so close to rolling from her back to her stomach and has already mastered going from her stomach to her back. she loves to play with her toys and will sit and watch the entire 30 min of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with a huge smile on her face. she loves to stand up when we hold her and wants to see and know everything that is going on around her.
I love being her mommy and cant believe she has been alive for almost half a year. she is such a sweet baby and every day I love her more. I am so grateful she is in my life.

Webb Christmas Party

The Webb Family Christmas party was on sunday.
we have been having this party for as long as I can remember.
its fun because everyone comes so I get to see cousins I dont see very often.
Sophies very first Christmas present.
It was a book from Great Grandma Webb.
She loved the paper!!
This Santa & Mrs Claus have come every year and I swear they never look any different.

Sophie & Daddy eating dinner.

This picture means a lot to me.
four generations.
My cute Grandma, My beautiful Mom,Sophie & I.
not very many people get to have a picture like this so I feel really lucky.

Sophie, Grammy & Gramps
Sophie & her Auntie Tori.
Her auntie Loves her so much!!!
she could hold her all day long.
She is always so excited to see her and is the first one to ask if she can hold her.
I think they are going to be the best of friends!
Thankfully we made it through this year with no brawls!!! :)
Its fun to have such a big family.
there are over 150 of us and we fill up an entire ward gym.
the first time Corey came to this party he asked me if I was related to everyone there.
he was amazed at how many people there were.

Our Christmas Tree

We have had it up since the beginning of December,
but I am a slow blogger lately with all the craziness of the holidays.
so, here it is freshly cut & smelling good.
Sophie loves to lay on the ground and look at the lights.

The latest CRAZE in Utah!!

I am introducing to you the latest craze
here in the great state of Utah.

Scentsy Wickless Candles
My mom has become a distributor,
and let me tell you this is an AWESOME product!!
here is how it works.
you buy a burner for 25.00. there are 25 different styles to choose from.
then you choose your scent. there are over 80 scents
and they are always coming out with new ones.
A scent for everyones nose!!
The great things about scentsy are:
the scented wax only heats to room temp.
this is great for little fingers if they happen to find their way to the wax,
you dont have to mess with a real flame you just switch it on,
you can leave it on when you leave the house, and it makes the perfect little night light.
I promise you will love these!!
I personally think they are inexpensive when you consider the cost of a candle.
The scented wax comes in a pack of six squares for 5.00
each little square will give you 80 hrs of yummy smells!!
This is my new favorite thing & I promise you will love it too!!
I have a basket of smells at my house.
please let me know if you are interested.
the deadline is the 14th for a christmas order.

Here is an example of the products
* the burner & wax
they also have room sprays that have heard are awesome!
better than anywhere else & car scents!!
I promise you are going to fall in Love!!!

she is a little more interested in the spoon.

and the bib. she thinks it is pretty cool.

Things I love about the Christmas Season

I was a little bit "Scrooge" about Christmas this year until a few days ago. I love summer and I was not looking forward to the hustle and bustle of the Holiday season. I got out my decorations and put them up, turned on some Christmas music and burned a yummy candle and it made me really excited. Today it snowed so hard and we put up our tree. it all just added to my excitement. so I thought that I would share a few things that I LOVE about the holidays.

1. I love being around family and friends.
2. I love Christmas trees. every year we are lucky enough to go cut one down in the mountains and the smell of a fresh tree is heaven.
3. I love the magic of Santa Claus. even though I am grown I feel there is a certain magic around the idea of him.
4. I love the Yummy food. its a wonder I don't weigh 400 pounds.
5. I love going to Temple Square to look at the lights. I feel so blessed to live so close to the city.
6. I love the smell of wrapping paper and scotch tape
7. I love getting new pjs Christmas eve. my mom still gives them to us. and it is fun!!!
8. I love Christmas music. there are a few Christmas songs that always make me teary eyed.
9. I feel like most of the time people are a little bit nicer during the holidays.
10. I love to drive around and look at the lights on peoples houses.
11. I love going to Christmas parties.
12. and last but not least I love days like today when it doesn't stop snowing and you go outside and it is so quiet. it makes you feel like the whole world is at peace.
I hope you can all catch the Christmas spirit, after all it is the most wonderful time of the year!!!
