Forts...

Sophie loves to build little forts around herself and then put every toy she can find in it. Sometimes she can't even move, she has so many toys around her. She thinks she is so awesome. She proudly exclaims " I did it, Hooray ". This time she made her fort in her closet. Her other favorite spots are on the stairs or in the corner by the TV.

uplifted...

I always feel so refreshed and uplifted after conference. I thought this one was really good, and extremely meaningful. I love how all of the talks reassured us that we will get through the hard times ahead if we live worthy of Heavenly Fathers spirit. I am so grateful for conference, and the opportunity it gives me to refocus my life. I loved the talk about taking a virtual tour of your home. It really helped me see the areas that need improvement, and the places we are doing well. It has always been important to me to make my house a temple like place. I am so grateful for President Monson. He is such an amazing man. His talk made me cry my eyes out. His stories are always neat to hear. My Dad and I finally figured out how we are related to him. His Great Grandma was a Sharp. I think its neat I am related to the Prophet.

I learned how to play some kind of poker... and lost...

Corey has been dying to teach me how to play poker, I have always had zero interest in the game. Saturday night after priesthood I finally caved. We had fun but I am NOT good at it, and I still have no interest! Sorry Cor! I lost, not too long after we started! Heidi was the winner! Sophie thought we looked so funny with tape and cards on our foreheads. She laughed the whole time we were playing and kept saying "silly mommy".

Getch Ya Popcorn Ready...

We returned home from Vegas on Monday afternoon to snow on the ground. Not a fun welcome home. While there, the weather was incredible, aside for a major wind storm on Sunday night. Palm trees were side ways and chairs at the restaurant were blowing all over the place. I got slammed by a heavy door and have a huge bruise on my leg to show for it, it was crazy. The hotel was really nice. We stayed at Treasure Island. I got to see my cousin Kristi who works there, we were so excited to see her. We ate some great food! We went to a buffet, to a small hamburger place called strip burger (the chocolate cake is amazing!) and of course we had to eat at In and Out. Lisa, Heidi and I had a blast doing girly stuff - including shopping, make overs and laying out by the pool. The boys, however, really enjoyed the smokey casino... or so it seemed with as much time as they spent there. They did have fun though, and our money isn't completely gone! We saw the Cirque Du Soleil show "Love". It was amazing and really weird. I was in awe that someone could think of something like that. It was a great show, definitely something you have to see. We got discount tickets and were 7 rows from the front. It was such a fun trip! It was so fun to come home and see Sophie! We missed her like crazy! She stayed at Bampa and Grammys house. Thanks guys for the fun trip! We cant wait for the next one!

Once in a life time...

My Dad is a superintendent for Okland construction. Right now he is working on the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. He is supervising the second floor, it has the instruction rooms the celestial room and a few sealing rooms. Everything is hired out, but one job. It is the responsibility of the superintendents to put together all of the crystal chandeliers. We were lucky enough to get to help him. This is one of the sealing rooms. This chandelier cost about $10,000. All of the crystals are hand cut in Germany. In the pictures you can see the structure, first you have to put in the light bulbs. This one had about 35, my Dad said the one in the Celestial room has about 250. After all the light bulbs were in we started at the bottom and at the top. Each crystal had to be unpacked, carried up a tall ladder and then carefully set into place. We had to wear gloves so there weren't any finger prints left on the crystals. There were about 15 people and it took close to 3 hours. It was so awesome when it was all done. Looking at it you would have no idea how it was all put together. In a few weeks we get to put together the one in the celestial room. I am so excited. The one we did Thursday night was a small one. The one in the Celestial room is about 8 feet wide and 14 feet tall. I feel so lucky to have this opportunity. Thanks Dad!
